The New Brunswick Music Educators Association is a group of public school teachers who are passionate about music education in New Brunswick. We are affiliated with the Canadian Music Educator’s Association, as well as the New Brunswick Teacher’s Association.
Professional Learning
Our first goal as an organization is to provide the best professional learning possible for NB teachers, specifically at NBTA Council Day each May. We also seek to provide a networking forum for music educators to get to know one another and share ideas.
Advocacy
Our second goal is to raise the profile of music education, and music educators, in New Brunswick. So far, we have done this by speaking with senior EECD officials about the importance of music education, and by meeting with individuals responsible for high school renewal process to discuss the “Creative Arts” requirement.
